Your new company

You’ll be joining a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a major infrastructure and enabling works programme. The project is currently in a critical pre-construction phase, with a significant pipeline of civils packages due to go to market ahead of construction ramping up later this year.
The business is known for delivering complex, large-scale projects and offers the opportunity to work within an experienced commercial and operational team.


Your new role

As a Freelance Quantity Surveyor (Procurement-Focused), you will support the commercial team on a short-term 3 to 6 month contract, playing a key role in accelerating procurement activity across multiple civils and infrastructure work packages.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the end-to-end procurement process for subcontract packages

  • Preparing and issuing tender documentation (ITTs/RFQs, scopes, BoQs)

  • Handling tender queries and supply chain engagement

  • Analysing tender returns and conducting commercial bid levelling

  • Supporting and leading subcontractor negotiations

  • Working closely with the wider commercial team to ensure packages are placed efficiently and compliantly

  • Ensuring alignment with NEC contract requirements

  • Providing visibility on procurement progress, risks and programme impact

    This is a hands-on, fast-paced role requiring someone who can hit the ground running and operate with minimal supervision.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civils or infrastructure projects

  • Strong track record in procurement, tendering, and subcontract package management

  • Experience working under NEC contracts (essential)

  • Ability to manage multiple packages simultaneously in a live project environment

  • Strong commercial awareness with confidence in negotiation and supplier engagement

  • Comfortable working on-site/in office during early project phases

  • Immediately available or available at short notice
