Quality Planner
Assignment Type: Temporary, ongoing basis where you will be engaged via Hays.
Location: Chichester
Working Environment: office based on site - hybrid.
Pay type: Competitive hourly pay rate.

Role Overview / Day in the Life
Position: Quality Planner (Project Quality Engineer)
Focus: Works on long-term projects (4–5 years before production)
Key Responsibilities
Participate in meetings with cross-functional teams (engineering, suppliers, internal stakeholders)
Lead advanced quality planning activities:
Proficient in FMEA, Control Plans, SPC
Create inspection instructions
Design and check fixtures; collaborate with toolmakers
Oversee quality team:
3 Quality Planners (each supported by a Quality Specialist)
2 Quality Technicians (hands-on roles)
Support safety testing (e.g., TRW Autoliv)
Skills & Experience
Strong ability to influence and communicate effectively in meetings
Confident in escalating issues and driving decisions
Automotive experience preferred (not essential)
Proven engineering background with New Product Introduction (NPI) experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience and an engineering degree
Familiarity with:
IQFMEA
Control plans (currently Excel-based)
Moving away from Excel-based processes
The Quality Planner defines specifications—requires strong technical understanding.
