We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quality Assurance & Improvement Executive to help embed a strong culture of quality, assurance and continuous improvement across the organisation.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with teams across directorates to embed corporate quality assurance and improvement strategies, frameworks, plans, processes and measures. You will play a key role in building quality improvement capability, supporting continuous improvement projects and change initiatives, and assessing the effectiveness of quality assurance arrangements across the organisation.
This is an influential role requiring strong stakeholder engagement, professional credibility and a passion for driving excellence in service delivery.
About the Team
The Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement (QA&CI) team is responsible for the organisation’s overarching quality assurance and improvement strategies, frameworks and standards.
The team provides expert advice and leadership to ensure consistent definitions of quality in processes and outputs across products and services, supporting the organisation’s journey towards excellence.
Key Responsibilities
As Quality Assurance & Improvement Executive, you will:
- Embed corporate quality assurance and improvement strategies, frameworks and standards across directorates
- Provide expert advice to senior leaders, managers and teams on quality assurance, improvement, audits and inspections
- Support teams to plan and prepare for internal audits, external reviews, inspections and accreditation.
- Lead and support self-evaluation activities and effectiveness reviews, ensuring learning leads to measurable improvement.
- Develop and coach managers and teams to create and implement Quality Management Plans (QMPs) and quality measures
- Lead, coach and develop a network of Quality Improvement Leads and Business Excellence Facilitators
- Design, deliver and co-deliver learning and development activities related to quality, improvement and change.
- Support continuous improvement projects and team-led change initiatives
- Contribute subject matter expertise to projects to ensure quality is embedded from design through to delivery
- Work collaboratively across change, improvement and project functions to ensure a joined-up approach.
- Contribute to organisational working groups, project teams and forums to promote a culture of continuous improvement

- European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), including participation in accreditation and awards processes
- Education and scrutiny bodies
- Professional quality organisations and networks (e.g. Chartered Quality Institute)
Essential Criteria
You will be able to demonstrate:
- Significant experience in a quality and/or continuous improvement role (or educated to degree level in a relevant discipline such as Quality Management or Business Management)
- EFQM Accredited Assessor status
- Experience of leading self-evaluations that have delivered measurable improvements
- Experience of preparing for and supporting internal and external audits, reviews or inspections
- Experience of delivering or facilitating training and learning activities
- Proven ability to identify and use quality and performance measures to improve outcomes
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across a range of internal and external partners
- A track record of delivering high-quality results and driving improvement
Desirable Criteria
It would be advantageous if you also have:
- Experience developing quality-related strategies, frameworks, policies or processes
- Experience designing learning or training programmes
- Experience leading quality assurance or continuous improvement projects
- Experience assessing the effectiveness of services, products or processes
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Practical experience using quality improvement tools and techniques
- Experience implementing change at team or organisational level
