We are currently working with a nurturing and inclusive primary school in Newton-le-Willows that is seeking a dedicated EYFS qualified Teaching Assistant to support a lovely child on a 1:1 basis. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for early years education and experience working with children who have additional needs.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with special educational needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s early development and learning journey and become part of the school's outgoing team.

The successful candidate will be supporting a child who requires extra help to access learning and daily routines. You will play a key role in encouraging their development, building trust, and helping them feel safe and supported throughout the school day. The role involves personal care, so applicants must be comfortable and confident in providing this support in a respectful and sensitive manner.

You will be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies that meet the child’s individual needs. A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach is essential, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.

Your daily responsibilities will include:
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a child with SEN needs.
  • Assist with personal care (nappy changing) and promote independence.
  • Ensure the child is engaged in all learning and activities.
  • Ensure the child is communicating and engaging with other children.
  • Be compassionate and understanding.
  • Alter the delivery of learning to suit the child's needs.
  • Support the child’s social, emotional and communication development.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals.
  • Liaise with parents
  • Contribute to planning and delivering engaging EYFS activities.
  • Monitor and record progress, contributing to reviews and reports.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
