Hays are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Officer in County Tyrone, to join a dynamic and fast-paced team, where your ability to manage supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery of goods will be key to success.
Your new role
As Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for processing purchase orders accurately, managing the critical path to ensure on-time delivery, and maintaining strong communication with both internal teams and international suppliers. You’ll lead weekly critical path meetings with external stakeholders and work closely with Account Managers and the Logistics Coordinator to ensure full visibility across the supply chain.

Your new role

- Accurately process purchase orders and maintain up-to-date records
- Manage and update the critical path to ensure timely delivery
- Liaise with international suppliers to manage timelines and resolve issues
- Lead weekly critical path meetings with external partners
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Support supplier management and foster strong relationships
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a purchasing or supply chain role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience using a Critical Path data communication system
- Proven problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems
- GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above)
- A growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
