Purchase Ledger Assistant – Temporary to Fixed Term Contract
Location: Chester-Le-Street (Hybrid Working)
Equivalent Salary - £28,000 FTE

Are you a detail-driven finance professional looking for your next opportunity? Our client, a well-established and forward-thinking company based in Chester-Le-Street, is seeking a proactive Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their finance team. This role starts on a temporary basis, with the potential to transition into a fixed-term contract for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Matching, batching, and coding invoices
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Assisting with payment runs and maintaining ledger integrity
  • Liaising with internal departments and external suppliers
  • Supporting month-end processes and reporting

Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills
  • Good working knowledge of Sage and Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Available to start immediately or at very short notice
