Your new company

A Special Needs School which specialises in behavioural issues is looking for a School SEN administrator to carry out long term cover. The cover is Monday to Friday, term time only, 8.00 am - 4.00 pm initially until the end of the academic year with potential longer opportunities.

Your new role

This job provides secretarial and administrative support to the SENDCo across all special educational
needs and disability matters. It maintains SEND records, coordinates annual reviews and liaises with
parents, carers and the Local Authority regarding students. The job supports the organisation of SEND meetings and events, produces reports and provides general administrative cover. Duties will entail:

  • Providing effective secretarial and administrative support to the SENDCo across all SEND matters.
  • Receiving, responding to and relaying promptly any emails, letters, telephone or other messages.
  • Liaising with parents, carers and the Local Authority and other stakeholders regarding SEND matters.
  • Providing administrative support for the creation, review and maintenance of Individual Education Plans.
  • Providing administrative support for annual reviews of students with special educational needs.
  • Updating the SEN register and SEN records to maintain accurate student information.
  • Assisting with the timetabling of TA support to ensure appropriate provision for students.
  • Supporting administration and organisation of events and meetings such as staff briefings, meetings and parent events.
  • Providing student SEND information for staff to support effective teaching and learning.
  • Entering and checking data and producing basic reports for SEND monitoring purposes

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to have similar experience within and education setting and be able to work quickly under your initiative. You will also have recent satisfactory references for carrying out a similar placement within the last 2 years.
