Project Support Officer - Planning Activities - London Hybrid (3 days on site)

Our client is a leading organisation operating within a global, highly regulated financial and commodities market. They are currently undertaking a significant technology modernisation programme and are looking to strengthen their project delivery team with the addition of a PMO / Project Coordinator.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders and technology leaders, supporting a complex portfolio of projects designed to enhance systems, processes and overall operational efficiency.
Your new role
As PMO / Project Coordinator, you will play a key role in bringing structure, organisation and visibility to a large-scale technology transformation programme. Reporting directly to the Head of Technology, you will support planning, governance and delivery activities across a diverse range of initiatives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Financial Services experience required
- Supporting programme and project planning activities.
- Building and maintaining a comprehensive catalogue of technology initiatives, including scope, dependencies and cost information.
- Organising and maintaining a large backlog of work, ensuring clear prioritisation and structure.
- Producing high-quality governance packs, programme reports, meeting materials and action logs for senior stakeholders.
- Maintaining project plans, trackers and reporting packs using Microsoft Excel.
- Working closely with project managers and technical teams to coordinate delivery activities.
- Providing support across multiple workstreams while taking ownership of assigned areas.
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, governance and programme processes, including the use of Power BI and other reporting tools where appropriate.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a PMO, Project Support, Project Coordinator or similar project delivery role.
- Experience supporting project or programme planning activities, including managing dependencies, scope and costs.
- Experience producing governance documentation, reporting packs and project documentation.
- An understanding of project life cycle, programme governance and delivery best practices.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and a high level of confidence working with data, trackers and reporting.
- Excellent organisational, planning and prioritisation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
