Hays Recruitment have been retained by a large, family run, main contractor in their recruitment of a Quantity Surveyor. This contractor is responsible for projects in the education, defence, healthcare and commercial sectors. Established for over 40 years, they have consistently expanded into a leading NI contractor, and now operate with a turnover of £100m, with operations across the UK, and Ireland. Due to increased workload, they now require a Project Quantity Surveyor to be based in the commercial team.
Your new role
Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, this position will be pivotal in providing quantity surveying support services to the team. You will be responsible for day to day QS duties on a substantial design and build project, including; subcontract procurement, administration, cash flow, risk and opportunity management, and cost control. The successful candidate will be responsible for the cost management of large scale projects based in NI & UK.
What you need to succeed
You will be degree educated in Quantity Surveying, with at least 4 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main construction contractor. You will be keen to develop your skills on large scale build projects, and will ideally bring experience of having worked on the same. You will be experienced in using relevant software, and will be generally IT literate.
