Project Planner; Planning Engineer;

A well‑established international engineering consultancy is delivering some of the most complex and innovative energy and infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland. With a strong regional presence and a collaborative, people‑focused culture, the organisation supports projects spanning power generation, renewables, energy storage, carbon capture and major infrastructure.
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Planner to support the successful delivery of major programmes and contribute to the ongoing development of their project controls capability.
Your new role
As a Planner, you will play a key role in the development, analysis, and management of project schedules across large‑scale energy and infrastructure projects. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams, you will provide robust planning, progress reporting, and schedule risk analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities will include:
Developing and maintaining complex project programmes and schedules
Supporting planning activities across development, construction, and operational projects
Undertaking critical path, delay, and schedule analysis
Implementing best‑practice progress measurement and KPI reporting
Carrying out quantitative risk analysis, including Monte Carlo simulations
Supporting claims awareness and working within standard forms of contract
Producing clear and accurate reports for key stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
Degree qualified in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline
Proven experience in project planning within major infrastructure or energy projects
Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6
Experience with schedule risk analysis tools (e.g. Monte Carlo, Primavera Risk Analysis)
Understanding of progress measurement, leading and lagging KPIs
Knowledge of critical path and delay analysis techniques
Awareness of claims management and contract environments
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Competent user of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power BI
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to UK & Ireland project sites
