Project Officer - Supported Housing - Wigan

Full-Time | Temporary | £14.42/hour | DBS Required |

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting vulnerable people to join a highly engaged and compassionate team. The role is based within a supported housing project, where residents are encouraged to build resilience, make progress, and pursue their aspirations.

As a Project Officer, you’ll play a key role in helping individuals experiencing homelessness in temporary accommodation. You’ll provide tailored housing advice and guidance, support residents in developing independent living and life skills and foster strong relationships with both residents and external professionals to ensure holistic, person-centred support.


Your new role

  • Building trusting relationships with a vulnerable client base from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating empathy and creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.

  • Providing tailored support and housing-related guidance to individuals in temporary accommodation, helping them develop independent living and life skills.

  • Managing a caseload, offering one-to-one support both within a staffed supported housing scheme and in residents’ individual home environments across the borough.

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to ensure a holistic and person-centred approach to support.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience in supported housing or a similar environment

  • Ability to use a range of IT software packages confidently and effectively

  • Experience working in a busy office environment, managing demands

  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in emergency or high-pressure situations

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload, work independently and use initiative

  • Commitment to maintaining accurate and confidential records in line with data protection standards
