Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Digital Project Manager to lead the local delivery, adoption and transition to business as usual of nationally mandated digital programmes within a large, complex public sector organisation.
The role requires strong coordination across clinical, digital, operational and governance teams, ensuring organisational readiness, safe implementation and alignment with national standards and delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities
Programme & Delivery Management
- Lead end to end local delivery of multiple national digital initiatives, managing parallel work streams.
- Develop, maintain and manage implementation plans, milestones, dependencies and benefits.
- Oversee the transition from project delivery to business as usual, ensuring sustainable operational and support models are in place.
Governance & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate and support local project governance, including Project Boards and reporting structures.
- Act as the primary interface between national programme teams and local stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively across clinical services, digital and infrastructure teams, procurement, service operations, information governance and clinical safety functions.
- Escalate risks, issues and decision points through appropriate digital and organisational governance routes.
Risk, Quality & Readiness
- Proactively identify, manage and report risks and issues, particularly relating to:
- Organisational and service readiness.
- Digital inclusion and safeguarding.
- Public and staff expectations.
- System dependencies and infrastructure constraints.
- Ensure compliance with national frameworks for information governance, clinical safety and regulatory standards.
Operational & Clinical Engagement
- Lead communications, staff engagement and change management activities.
- Support clinical and operational engagement to drive adoption and user onboarding.
- Monitor and manage operational impacts arising from system implementation and upgrades.
Implementation & Go‑Live Support
- Ensure all go-live prerequisites are met, including SOPs, training, data quality checks and readiness assessments.
- Coordinate go-live activities and provide early life support for services to BAU.
- Track readiness for future national releases, upgrades and integrations, including interface testing and validation.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering complex digital or IT projects, ideally within healthcare, public sector or similarly regulated environments.
- Demonstrable experience working across multidisciplinary clinical and non-clinical teams.
- Strong track record of managing multiple work streams, risks and interdependencies simultaneously.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and reporting skills.
- Experience working within formal governance and assurance frameworks.
- Experience working within the Public Sector or the NHS is essential.
