About the Role
We are working in partnership with a well‑established regional building contractor to appoint an experienced Project Manager to lead a variety of new build and refurbishment schemes across Berkshire, Oxfordshire, and surrounding counties.
Projects typically range between £2 Million and £8 Million, spanning a diverse portfolio of sectors including education, commercial, leisure, healthcare, and industrial. You will take full ownership of projects from pre‑construction through to handover, ensuring safe delivery, technical excellence, and strong commercial outcomes.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable contractor with a strong regional presence, a healthy pipeline of work, and a supportive senior leadership team.
Project Delivery
- Lead projects through all phases: pre‑construction, delivery, and handover.
- Coordinate design consultants and ensure technical information is managed effectively.
- Oversee daily site operations, ensuring programme, cost, and quality standards are met.
- Act as the principal point of contact for clients throughout the project duration.
Commercial & Contract Management
- Take responsibility for project budgets, cost reporting, and contractual obligations.
- Work closely with commercial teams to ensure projects achieve agreed financial targets.
- Manage risk, identify issues early, and implement mitigation strategies.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide clear leadership to site teams, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Promote a proactive and collaborative site culture, with a strong focus on safety.
- Mentor and support junior team members as part of wider team development.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience delivering new build and refurbishment projects for a main contractor.
- Strong understanding of sectors such as education, healthcare, commercial, leisure, or industrial.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to drive project performance.
- Commercially aware, with experience of JCT or NEC forms of contract.
- Capable of leading projects of varying complexity and value.
- Relevant construction‑related degree or professional qualification
