Project Manager - Highways - Contracting - Brighton - Civils
Your new company
You will be joining a professional project delivery environment responsible for managing and delivering a range of highway improvement, carriageway maintenance and civil engineering schemes. The organisation works across live highway networks and public sector frameworks, delivering projects that have a direct impact on communities, road users and stakeholders.
Your new role
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering highway improvement, carriageway maintenance and civil engineering schemes from inception to completion under NEC contracts.
Key responsibilities will include:
Overseeing the full NEC contract project life cycle
Managing all contractual communications via CEMAR or an equivalent system
Developing and implementing technical solutions to resolve design queries and on-site issues
Reviewing and accepting contractor programmes
Reviewing and approving traffic management plans and proposals
Monitoring project progress against programme, quality and budget
Producing project highlights and progress reports for the client team.
Providing technical advice to clients and colleagues, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, health and safety legislation, financial controls, Freedom of Information and Data Protection requirements
Supporting internal communications teams with updates to inform residents and stakeholders of works programmes
Managing and supporting internal staff involved in project delivery, including site supervisors
Working across office, home and live-site environments, including occasional out-of-hours and weekend working
What you'll need to succeed
A B.Sc. or B.Eng. (Hons) in Civil Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
NEC Project Manager Accreditation
Experience across all stages of design and construction on civil engineering or highway projects
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Experience using CEMAR or equivalent contract management systems
Experience using project or programme management software
Strong working knowledge of DMRB, TSRGD, Manual for Streets and CDM Regulations
Experience with highway contracts, specifications, methods of measurement and pricing schedules
Understanding of public sector frameworks and working practices
