Project Manager – deliver complex Digital, IT, Data/business transformation projects for large organisations

Senior Project Manager
Contract Duration: 1 December 2025 – 30 June 2026
Extension Option: Yes Location: Belfast (onsite/hybrid as required)

Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager will lead the delivery of complex, medium to large-scale transformation projects across Digital, IT, Data, or business domains. This role demands a seasoned professional with a minimum of 10 years’ experience managing high-value, multidisciplinary programmes within large or medium-sized organisations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project delivery, including planning, budgeting, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and supplier coordination. They will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to budget, while maintaining high standards of quality and governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and manage detailed project plans, proactively monitor progress, and resolve issues.
  • Manage project budgets, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting.
  • Lead third-party suppliers and delivery partners to ensure timely fulfilment of obligations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage risks and issues, implementing mitigation and resolution strategies.
  • Operate change control processes and manage interdependencies across the project portfolio.
  • Ensure appropriate resourcing and manage resource forecasting within a matrix structure.
  • Provide regular progress updates to programme management via highlight reports.
Essential Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in delivering complex transformation projects in the technology sector.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery using PRINCE2 or equivalent methodologies, with strong knowledge of Agile, SCRUM, and Waterfall.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in service/contract management of large-value, complex service agreements.
  • Demonstrable experience in:
    • Leading large, multidisciplinary teams.
    • Managing large budgets with accurate forecasting and tracking.
    • Working within structured PMO environments and applying defined processes.
    • Risk and issue management, including problem-solving and mitigation planning.
    • Resource management and forecasting in matrix delivery structures.
  • Strong leadership, communication (written, verbal, and presentation), and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and client teams at Senior Manager level.
Desirable Qualifications
  • ITIL v3 or v4 certification.
  • Strong technical background.
  • Experience in the utilities sector.
  • Familiarity with Crown Commercial Services framework contracts.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience of service / contract management of large value, complex service agreements.
