Project Manager - Permanent - Birmingham - Tier 1 Contractor - Severn Trent Water AMP8 Framework - Hybrid

Your new company

You will be joining an established Tier 1 contractor based in Birmingham operating within the water industry. This multi-accredited and high-profile organisation specialises in the delivery of wastewater treatment works directly for Severn Trent Water and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. With a healthy orderbook of AMP8 works, they are actively looking for a Project Manager to join their delivery team.

This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Birmingham office with site visits within the Shropshire and Worcestershire regions.

Your new role

As Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Producing financial forecasts, monitoring and controlling project costs and cost reporting, and producing monthly reports to the Contracts Manager
  • Delivering projects from design phase through to completion, including all handover documentation
  • Reviewing project progress, budget resources and planning
  • Ensuring production and implementation of project plans, risk assessments, method statements, site waste management plans and procurement of plant and materials are in line with company procedures
  • Reviewing work packages and ensuring the scope of work is defined and understood
  • Chairing weekly site meetings and ensuring the production of accurate records of any discussions and actions
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with framework suppliers, design consultants and the client
  • Developing and maintaining construction programmes with staff
  • Ensuring detailed site diaries/records are completed.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful, you must have:
  • Proven successful experience managing projects from inception through to completion in the water industry
  • Good knowledge of CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management, and cost control, including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting
  • CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid
  • Knowledge of NEC form of contract including early warning and compensation event mechanisms
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational and people management skills
  • Full UK driving licence.
