£45k Project Accountant, part of the construction / development team for a Leading Media Business

Your new role
They are looking for a proactive Project Accountant with a hands-on approach and excellent communication skills. The role will be working closely with the Finance Director. The responsibilities include:
  • Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Lead the preparation of VAT returns and manage tax-related activities.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations.
  • Manage the preparation of weekly payment runs and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Work with the commercial team in the provision of cash flow and contract performance data as and when required.
  • Take ownership of the short- and long-term cash flow forecasting for the group, including preparing associated analysis.
  • Support the Finance Director in the annual audit of the group.
  • Handling of Split VAT invoices and payments
  • Verifying Subcontractors for CIS
  • Checking Subcontractor Insurance validity
  • Build relationships with the stakeholders of the finance function and the wider business.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience of working within the construction sector or audit/practice is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of managing external stakeholders such as banks, auditors and tax partners.
  • Knowledge of CIS essential
  • High attention to detail
