Professional Indemnity Solicitor (2+ PQE) sought after by leading defendant firm

Your new company
Our client is a highly-regarded defendant law firm with offices nationwide. They are currently recruiting for a solicitor to join their Manchester or Liverpool professional indemnity teams on a hybrid basis. A competitive salary and annual bonus are available along with a good level of hybrid working.

Your new role
This Professional Indemnity Solicitor role will see you:
  • Provide comprehensive assistance and support to partners and senior associates in managing their caseloads.
  • Take proactive ownership and management of your own cases.
  • Collaborate as part of a team on complex, high-value matters.
  • Draft detailed, technical reports, correspondence, and court documentation.
  • Delegate tasks to solicitors and trainees while supporting their professional development.
  • Advise clients on liability and coverage issues.
  • Liaise effectively with insurer and insured clients, experts, witnesses, counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to client service level agreements, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and support growth opportunities.
  • Prepare and complete management information reports.
  • Assist in supervising trainees, paralegals, and apprentices.
  • Undertake additional tasks as allocated by the Team Manager.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Qualified solicitor with 2+ years PQE (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience of professional indemnity, particularly construction and architect claims.
  • Proven experience in insurance litigation, policy coverage analysis, and professional risk claims (construction focus; wider experience desirable).
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance policies, market dynamics, reporting, reserving, and broker–insurer–lawyer relationships.
  • Previous secondment or employment within an insurance organisation is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage caseloads, meet deadlines, and deliver under pressure with a commercial, client-focused approach.
  • Excellent legal analysis, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organised with strong time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in IT systems and effective team collaboration.
