Production Planning Coordinator – Precision Manufacturing | Essex | Full-time | On-site

Your new company

You’ll be joining a globally recognised precision manufacturer with a strong reputation for quality, service, and innovation. Operating from their UK headquarters, this family-owned business supplies high-specification components to over 90 countries. Their production model is highly varied, combining repeat orders with bespoke, one-off manufacturing - offering a dynamic and engaging environment for planners who enjoy variety and complexity.

Your new role

As Production Planning Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for designing and managing detailed production schedules across a wide range of product types - from standard runs to custom builds. You’ll work closely with procurement, sales, logistics, and product development teams to ensure materials are available, schedules are realistic, and customer expectations are met.

Your day-to-day will involve:
  • Creating and adjusting production schedules based on forecasts, customer orders, and material availability
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams to align planning with operational capacity
  • Monitoring inventory levels and identifying opportunities to reuse components
  • Supporting system administration and documentation for planning processes
  • Driving improvements in planning efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and transparency
This is a hands-on, collaborative role with scope to grow and take on more responsibility over time.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 2–5 years’ experience in a production planning, scheduling, or supply chain coordination role
  • Background in manufacturing environments — ideally job-shop or custom production
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changeable environment
  • Desirable: experience with Power BI, lean manufacturing, or scientific/precision components

What you'll get in return

  • Early finish on Fridays (15:15) to support work-life balance
  • Competitive salary
  • 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Company pension scheme with employer contributions
  • Option to join a comprehensive health insurance plan after 6 months
  • Professional development and training opportunities
  • A stable, collaborative environment with international reach
  • The chance to work with cutting-edge equipment and contribute to process improvements
