Requirement for a Production Manager in Co. Down

Your new company

Your new company is a dynamic and award-winning food production business based in Co. Down that has built a reputation for innovation, quality, and operational excellence. With over 30 Great Taste Awards and multiple wins at the Free From Food Awards, it continues to lead the way in premium foods. Recognised as the Most Innovative Small Manufacturing Company by Food Manufacture and a Best Rural Food or Drink Business by the Rural Business Awards in partnership with Amazon, the company combines cutting-edge production with a deep-rooted heritage. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that’s not only growing but consistently setting industry standards.

Your new role

As Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of production to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets. You’ll oversee health & safety, product quality, customer service levels, throughput efficiency, yield, waste control, and labour utilisation. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you’ll manage team leaders and production operatives, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and foster a high-performance culture aligned with company values. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strategic thinking and operational excellence.

What you'll need to succeed

You’ll bring proven experience managing large teams in a fast-paced FMCG or manufacturing environment, with a strong grasp of health & safety, food safety, and technical standards. A track record of improving yield, reducing waste, and optimising labour costs is essential. You should be confident in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, possess strong analytical and decision-making skills, and be an effective communicator who can engage cross-functional teams.

What you'll get in return

You’ll receive a competitive salary of around £40-45k, depending on experience, along with the opportunity to lead within a progressive and supportive organisation. This role offers excellent scope for career development and the chance to make a significant impact in a business that values leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
