Your new role

Responsible for the procurement of Goods, Services and Works as required under the direction of the Procurement Manager, to achieve the most economically advantageous result with less risk, and consistent with EU Public Procurement Regulations, Standing Financial Instructions and the operational requirements of the Constituent Organisations and Clients. This will include; invitation to quote/tender and commercial evaluation, negotiations with suppliers and contractors and placement of orders and contracts compliant with the Customers’ Standing Financial Instructions, Procurement Policy and current legislation.

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum of 3/5 years working in a purchasing/contracting environment across the public sector.
• Ideally, MCIPS or equivalent.
• A good working knowledge of purchase to pay/financial/e-commerce systems.
• Good knowledge of contract law and knowledge of VAT issues.
• Understanding of commercial issues and purchasing techniques and a working knowledge of the rules governing public sector procurement.
• Must be able to travel to Gloucester regularly.
