Interim Procurement Specialist

Your new company

You’ll be joining a public sector organisation operating within a highly regulated environment, with a strong focus on governance, sustainability, and delivering positive outcomes for Scotland. The organisation plays a key role in supporting national priorities and is committed to best practice, transparency, and continuous improvement across its commercial and procurement activity.

Your new role

As a Procurement Specialist, you will support the delivery of compliant, value‑driven procurement activity across the organisation. The role is hands‑on and will involve supporting end‑to‑end procurement exercises, advising internal stakeholders, and ensuring procurement activity aligns with public sector regulations and internal governance requirements. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation, supporting tendering activity, contract award and mobilisation, and contributing to effective contract management and continuous improvement of procurement processes.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience working within a public sector procurement environment, with a solid understanding of public procurement regulations. You’ll be comfortable supporting or running regulated procurement exercises, using national e‑procurement systems, and providing clear procurement advice to stakeholders. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential, along with effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills. A professional procurement qualification (or working towards) and experience of contract management would be advantageous.

What you'll get in return

The opportunity to contribute to a purpose‑led public sector organisation, working on procurement activity that supports critical services and long‑term strategic objectives. The role offers exposure to a broad range of procurement activity, opportunities to further develop public sector procurement expertise, and a collaborative working environment. Hybrid working is expected, alongside flexibility and a strong focus on work‑life balance.
