Procurement Policy Lead
Location: Midlands - Hybrid (2 days on-site per week)
Rate: £500–£525 per day
Contract: Interim for 6 months

About the Role
A large public sector organisation is seeking a Procurement Policy Lead to develop, embed, and maintain a suite of procurement policies and procedures. This role will drive compliance, transparency, and continuous improvement across procurement practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain procurement policies and operational procedures.
  • Standardise templates for procurement activities (e.g., tender documents, evaluation forms).
  • Ensure policies reflect legislation and best practice.
  • Deliver training and guidance to staff on policies and procedures.
  • Drive cultural change towards consistent and compliant procurement practices.
  • Manage compliance with transparency obligations under the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Develop and implement transparency frameworks, including templates and guidance for publishing notices.
  • Respond to national procurement policy developments and translate priorities into local objectives.
  • Lead and support priority initiatives and manage staff.
Essential Experience
  • Strong knowledge of procurement legislation and best practice.
  • Experience developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures.
  • Ability to manage compliance and transparency obligations.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and cultural change.
  • Leadership experience, including managing staff.
