Interim Procurement Officer for Local Government Organisation in Hampshire

About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Interim Procurement Officer to join our local government client based in Hampshire on a 6-month interim basis to support the Procurement team.
This role is pivotal in driving value for money across services, ensuring compliance with procurement legislation, and supporting strategic initiatives across the organisation.


Key Responsibilities


Lead on BAU procurement activity across multiple categories, ensuring efficiency and legal compliance

Provide expert advice and support to internal stakeholders on procurement processes and contract management
Draft and manage tender documentation, evaluation reports, and contract award notices
Ensure alignment with internal policies and Public Contract Regulations
Work collaboratively with legal, finance, and service teams to deliver outcomes that benefit service users.
What you need to succeed
Strong working knowledge of UK public sector procurement law (PA23 essential)
Proven experience in procurement within local government or similar environments
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement
Ability to hit the ground running and manage multiple priorities

What you will get in return

Interim role for 6 months
Day rate of £350-£450 a day dependent on experience
Hybrid working – 1 day a week in office
