Your new role
As a Procurement Officer, you will play a key role within the Finance and Governance team, reporting directly to the Procurement Manager. You’ll be responsible for managing the end-to-end tendering and quotation processes, providing expert procurement advice, and supporting the delivery of strategic procurement initiatives aligned with corporate objectives.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Leading tender and quotation processes, including evaluation, negotiation, and reporting.
- Advising internal stakeholders on procurement policy and compliance.
- Assisting in the preparation and review of tender specifications and documentation.
- Maintaining a central register of contracts and procurement data.
- Supporting contract management and monitoring supplier performance.
- Identifying opportunities for collaborative procurement and cost efficiencies.
- Deputising for the Procurement Manager when required
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant procurement experience and either:
- A qualification leading to Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) membership, or
- 4 years’ experience with a willingness to work towards CIPS membership within 3 years.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, ideally within a public sector or regulated environment.
- Excellent organisational, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and deliver results.
- Competitive hourly rate of £20.98 (subject to job evaluation review).
