12 month FTC Procurement Officer role with a not-for-profit organisation in Liverpool, with hybrid working

My client is a reputable not-for-profit organisation based in Liverpool, dedicated to making a positive impact in the community. Their mission is to support and uplift those in need through various initiatives and programs. They are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join their team for a period of 12 months and contribute to their ongoing success.

Role Overview:
As a Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organisation to prepare for the upcoming Procurement Act 2023. You will provide operational support with tendering activities to the wider procurement team, ensuring compliance and efficiency in their procurement processes. This role is essential in helping the organisation to navigate the new legislative landscape and maintain their commitment to best practices in procurement.

Key Responsibilities:
Legislative Research
: Stay updated on the upcoming changes in procurement legislation, particularly the Procurement Act 2023, and understand its implications for our organisation.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate legislative changes concisely and effectively to stakeholders across the organisation, ensuring everyone is informed and prepared.
Framework Evaluation: Research and evaluate the most appropriate procurement frameworks available in the market, considering factors such as cost, efficiency, and compliance. You will also provide a shortlist of suitable frameworks and detailed recommendations to the Procurement Manager, supporting informed decision-making.
Tendering Support: Assist in the preparation and management of tendering activities, ensuring all processes are conducted transparently and in accordance with legal requirements.
Collaboration: Work closely with the procurement team and other departments to ensure seamless integration of procurement activities within the organisation.

Experience required:
  • Some procurement experience, ideally within the public sector, with a good understanding of procurement processes and regulations.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to analyse and interpret complex information.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to navigate changes in legislation and organisational needs.
