Procurement Manager, Head of Procurement

With offices across the Midlands and East of England, there is flexibility on base location with a need to be in the office just 2-3 days per month.

Your new role
As Procurement Manager/Head of Procurement, you’ll lead the transformation of procurement across the group. This brownfield role offers the chance to build and evolve procurement into a high-impact, value-generating function. You’ll be responsible for:
  • Developing and enhancing procurement policies, procedures, and strategic sourcing plans
  • Leading contract negotiations and vendor management and establishing best practice
  • Driving cost optimisation and supplier performance across the business
  • Ensuring compliance with internal governance and external regulations
  • Establishing quality control frameworks and mitigating supplier-related risks
  • Reporting procurement metrics and engaging senior stakeholders on strategy
  • Managing strategic client and supplier contracts with a long-term view
This is a high-visibility role with the autonomy to influence procurement strategy and deliver measurable business impact with an opportunity to influence plans for future function investment.

What you’ll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
  • Relevant experience in procurement management/leadership, ideally within the professional services/financial services/corporate sector.
  • Proven expertise in contract negotiation and vendor relationship management
  • Strong knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and project management skills
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to drive accountability and change
  • Strategic thinking and a passion for building high-performing procurement functions
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and embedding procurement best practice is essential alongside the behaviours and the ability to win hearts and minds
