Procurement Manager - Greater London - Logistics Business

Join a nationally recognised freight and logistics organisation with a turnover of approximately £200m, operating across key hubs in the UK’s transportation sector. Known for its commitment to safety, innovation, and operational excellence, the business is undergoing a period of strategic growth and investment. As part of this evolution, they are seeking a Procurement Manager to lead sourcing initiatives across a diverse and high-value spend portfolio.

Your new role

• Manage a spend portfolio of approximately £80m across multiple indirect categories including FM, IT, professional services, MHE, PPE, fleet support, and temporary labour.
• Develop and implement category strategies focused on total cost of ownership, supplier performance, and ESG compliance
• Lead end-to-end procurement processes including tendering, negotiation, contract award, and supplier management
• Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, HR, IT, finance, and warehouse management to deliver procurement solutions aligned with business needs
• Monitor market trends and supplier developments to identify opportunities for innovation, savings, and risk mitigation
• Ensure compliance with procurement governance, legal standards, and ESG targets
• Report on procurement KPIs, cost savings, and supplier performance metrics
• Manage vendor relationships, enforce SLAs, and drive cost savings in partnership with finance and operations
• Oversee ESG initiatives and provide comprehensive reporting across supplier engagements

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or Category Manager in logistics, warehousing, or a fast-paced operational environment
• Demonstrated ability to manage significant multi-category spend portfolios (ideally £50m+)
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and commercial acumen
• CIPS qualification (or working towards) is advantageous.
• Self-starter with a proactive mindset and the ability to influence across levels
