Procurement Manager - £58,000 – London - Rail Sector - Hybrid

Your new role

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, category strategies, and supplier relationships for indirect spend areas
  • Draft, agree, and implement procurement strategies in collaboration with stakeholders, with support from senior leadership.
  • Execute procurement processes to embed best-in-class practices and provide commercial advice on contracts and purchase commitments
  • Manage supplier compliance, monitor performance, and address contractual risks, ensuring adherence to responsible procurement and living-wage requirements.
  • Maintain an accurate audit trail of all procurement activities, produce regular management reports, and deputise for senior procurement colleagues when needed.

What you'll need to succeed

  • ‘A’-Level or HNC qualification; working toward or full membership of a recognised procurement body preferred
  • Minimum five years’ procurement experience, including managing indirect categories
  • Strong IT literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel; experience with e-procurement systems)
  • Detailed knowledge of contract law, negotiation, and supplier management
  • Excellent commercial awareness, analytical skills, and project-management capability
  • A collaborative communicator able to influence and build cross-functional relationships in a matrix structure.
  • Autonomous problem-solver with a partnership approach to stakeholder engagement
