Hays is proud to partner with a growing central government organisation to recruit a skilled Procurement Manager—a vital hire during an exciting phase of expansion.

The Role
In this influential position, you’ll take the lead across the full procurement lifecycle—from tendering and market engagement through to contract award and supplier management. Reporting to the Head of Procurement & Contracts, you’ll play a central role in shaping strategic sourcing and driving best value for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute forward-thinking procurement strategies
  • Run end-to-end competitive procurement exercises
  • Conduct market analysis to inform strategic commercial decisions
  • Ensure specifications and scopes of work reflect industry best practice
  • Oversee supplier and contract performance, driving improvements and mitigating risk
  • Identify opportunities to deliver value for money and generate commercial benefits
  • Champion procurement governance and compliance
  • Support and upskill colleagues with expert procurement guidance and training
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in public sector procurement, ideally within central government
  • Strong knowledge of UK procurement regulations, frameworks, and procedures
  • Expertise in tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management
  • CIPS qualified or working towards a recognised procurement accreditation
