Interim Procurement Manager

Join a values‑driven organisation committed to delivering best value, strong governance and sustainable outcomes. As Interim Procurement Manager, you’ll provide critical expertise during a period of transformation, working with senior leaders to strengthen procurement practice across the business.

Your new role
This role is part-time with a 3 day working week and an expectation to be in their offices 1-2 days per week. Initially for a 3-6 month period, you will lead all procurement activity, acting as the organisation’s expert on the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing authoritative advice to Directors and Heads of Service.
  • Leading end‑to‑end procurement exercises, from route‑to‑market through to contract award.
  • Ensuring use of compliant and value‑driven procurement routes.
  • Managing the multi‑year procurement plan and ensuring adherence to governance and timescales.
  • Overseeing contract management standards and the organisation’s contract register.
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships and leading procurement review meetings.
  • Producing reports for senior leadership and driving continuous improvement.

What you’ll need to succeed
  • Significant procurement experience in the public or regulated sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK public sector procurement legislation and best practice.
  • Proven ability to lead complex procurements and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, planning and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Ability to balance compliance, commerciality and organisational priorities.
