Procurement Manager, Industry, Perm, Co. Armagh

Your new company
Hays are partnering with a leading manufacturer of fresh and chilled food products, supplying top-tier retailers across the UK and Ireland, to appoint a Procurement manager.

Your new role
  • Manage the fresh produce supply base, balancing seasonal availability, cost control, and budget adherence.
  • Lead procurement of site services (e.g. utilities, pest control, laundry, chemicals, forklifts).
  • Maintain resilience planning across all procurement areas.
  • Monitor supplier performance and negotiate competitive pricing.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in procurement practices.
  • Liaise closely with production teams to ensure supply continuity.
  • Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with food safety, ethical sourcing, and legal standards.
  • Support strategic projects and contribute to business growth and risk mitigation.
  • Champion a culture of integrity and collaboration.


What you'll need to succeed
Essential:
  • 2–3 years’ experience in a similar procurement role.
  • Degree-level education in a relevant field.
  • Proven management experience.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of IT systems.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel nationally/internationally.
Desirable:
  • Supply chain qualification.
  • Experience in project management or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and ethical sourcing.
  • Strategic procurement experience.
  • Advanced Excel or ERP/MRP system experience.
