Procurement Manager (Clinical Development) - Hybrid (2 days on site in Herts) - Rate up to £339 per day (Umb Paye)


A leading global organisation is seeking a dynamic Procurement Manager to join its high‑performing procurement function. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping how critical third‑party goods and services are sourced to support clinical development activities worldwide.


Your new role

As Procurement Manager, you will act as a strategic partner to stakeholders across the clinical development value chain. You will:

Conduct market analysis and develop tactical sourcing plans that ensure value, quality, and compliance.
Lead negotiations for a broad range of clinical‑related goods and services, including CROs, Imaging and eCOA providers.
Translate sourcing strategies into effective, automated buying channels to drive adoption and improve operational efficiency.
Execute sourcing strategies, leverage spend, and manage supplier performance to meet business objectives.
Collaborate with internal teams to convert clinical development needs into actionable sourcing and spend‑management initiatives.
Support continuous improvement, enhancing the buying experience and creating efficiencies across the procurement network

What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for an action‑oriented procurement professional with strong commercial acumen and a background in the clinical domain. You will bring:

A university degree (Business preferred).
Proven experience in sourcing, contracting, or operational efficiency projects.
Strong knowledge of Clinical Development or Clinical Technologies (CROs, Imaging, eCOA etc.).
Demonstrable negotiation skills, particularly around project budgets and contract structures.
Familiarity with procurement systems and processes, including contracting, eSourcing, and spot buying.
Excellent project‑management capability.
Fluency in English and the ability to communicate effectively across global teams.

You will be an enterprise thinker who collaborates naturally, learns continuously, and takes ownership to drive execution.
