Procurement Specialist – NEC experience

Join a leading consultancy supporting a major infrastructure programme within the UK defence sector. This is a high-profile opportunity to work on complex commercial and procurement activities in a client-facing environment, delivering real impact across a nationally significant programme.

Your new role

As a Commercial Contracts Manager, you will lead the drafting, administration, and governance of NEC contracts across the full lifecycle. You’ll be responsible for delivering a key workstream, integrating commercial processes, and providing expert advice to client teams.

  • Draft and administer NEC contracts, frameworks, and scopes for large infrastructure projects
  • Manage commercial lifecycle processes including Capex and Opex
  • Provide strategic advice on procurement and commercial policy
  • Engage with stakeholders across client and consultant teams
  • Use systems such as Jaggaer and CEMAR for reporting and governance
  • Lead bid writing and commercial documentation
  • Ensure compliance with Public Contracts Regulations, Utilities and Defence & Security regulations


What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in procurement, category management, or contract management
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial models
  • Excellent drafting, analysis, and presentation skills
  • Experience working in client-facing roles within the public sector
  • Ability to manage personal workload and lead significant project elements
  • Ideally available within 1 month’s notice
  • SC clearance (held or willing to obtain)
