A leading organisation within the Infrastructure sector is seeking a high-calibre Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to support a major infrastructure delivery in Essex. This is a pivotal opportunity to influence large-scale projects, optimise supply chain performance, and drive procurement excellence across complex infrastructure programmes.
Your new role
As Procurement & Supply Chain Manager, you will play a critical role in aligning procurement activity with construction programmes, ensuring robust supply chain strategies and value-driven outcomes.Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating procurement pipelines and aligning with programme delivery and opportunity publication
- Forecasting and analysing supply chain spend, including SME engagement and KPI tracking
- Driving procurement schedules to align with construction milestones and flagging risks to project teams
- Overseeing sourcing strategies and tender processes, including PQQs, ITTs and selection criteria
- Supporting tender negotiations to ensure value for money and robust commercial outcomes
- Reviewing tender evaluations and advising on supplier selection and subcontracting decisions
- Providing guidance on subcontract risk allocation and incentivisation strategies
- Ensuring compliance with procurement and subcontracting plans
- Collaborating with commercial and project teams to address delivery challenges and improve outcomes
- Contributing to continuous improvement through standardisation, lessons learnt, and best practice
What you’ll need to succeed
Proven experience in procurement, commercial management, and project delivery
- Strong understanding of construction or infrastructure supply chains
- Ability to influence stakeholders and challenge existing ways of working
- Commercial acumen with experience driving value and managing risk
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in managing complex discussions
- Experience supporting or managing main Construction contractors
- Knowledge of NEC4 contracts is preferred
- CIPS qualification is preferred but not essential
- A resilient, solutions-focused mindset with a proactive approach
