Procurement & Merchandise Manager | South Down

Your new company

You will be joining a fast-growing, commercially driven SME operating within a unique and highly engaging sector where product performance, customer interaction, and operational excellence directly influence business success.
The organisation has built a reputation for innovation and agility, offering a collaborative environment where ideas are welcomed, decisions are made quickly, and individuals have genuine ownership over their function. This is a business where procurement plays a key strategic role in driving revenue, not simply supporting it.

Your new role

As Procurement & Merchandise Manager, you will take ownership of a highly influential function within the business, combining commercial buying, product strategy, supplier management, and operational leadership.
This is not a traditional procurement role. You will be responsible for shaping product ranges, analysing customer behaviour, and making commercially driven decisions that directly impact revenue growth and customer engagement.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and optimising product ranges, identifying high-performing items and scaling success
  • Using data and insight to drive product decisions, remove underperforming lines, and introduce new trends
  • Leading supplier relationships, negotiating effectively, and improving performance, cost, and reliability
  • Overseeing inventory strategy, ensuring a balance between availability and cash efficiency
  • Driving warehouse operations through team leadership, improving accuracy, flow, and efficiency
  • Monitoring key commercial KPIs including revenue performance, stock turn, and inventory value
  • Continuously improving procurement, stock management, and operational processes

You will lead a small team covering procurement and warehouse operations and work closely with internal stakeholders across operations, field service, and finance.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong commercial mindset combined with experience across procurement, buying, or merchandise planning within a fast-paced environment.

You should be comfortable using data to inform decisions and confident in taking ownership of both strategy and day-to-day operations.
Key skills and experience include:

  • Proven experience in procurement, buying, or merchandise management
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how product decisions drive revenue
  • Ability to analyse performance data using Excel or ERP systems
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating effectively
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles, including stock optimisation and forecasting
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams and processes
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to drive change

What you'll get in return

In return, you will benefit from a highly visible and impactful role within a growing business where your decisions directly influence performance and growth.

You will have the autonomy to shape your function, test new ideas, and see the tangible results of your work.
The package includes:

  • Competitive salary aligned to the scope of the role
  • Performance-related bonus linked to revenue growth, stock optimisation, and overall business success
  • Long-term career development opportunities within a scaling organisation
  • A fast-paced, varied role where no two days are the same
  • A collaborative team culture where innovation and ownership are genuinely encouraged
  • WFH opportunities
  • Early finish on Fridays!
