A Probate Solicitor (Senior Associate and above) opportunity in a well-established, top-ranked firm.

Your new company

A well established and highly respected law firm with a strong reputation in the private client space. The Probate team sits within a large and thriving Private Client department and is known for its technical excellence, collaborative culture and commitment to delivering a first‑class service. With a team comprising a diverse experience range, you’ll be part of a supportive environment where expertise is shared, development is encouraged, and high quality work is the norm.

Your new role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Probate Solicitor to join a specialist and enthusiastic team handling a varied, high-quality caseload. Working closely with colleagues across the probate, private client and contentious trusts and probate teams, you will be responsible for:

  • Administering large and complex taxable testate and intestate estates

  • Applying business property and agricultural property reliefs

  • Calculating inheritance tax involving exempt and non‑exempt beneficiaries

  • Managing estate administrations on behalf of national charities

  • Preparing wills and LPAs, including matters involving elderly clients or capacity concerns, with occasional urgent home or hospital visits

  • Supervising and supporting junior solicitors and paralegals

You’ll play a key role in maintaining the team’s high standards while contributing to its continued growth. Significant training and support will be provided to help you further develop your expertise.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a qualified Solicitor with extensive experience in probate law and STEP membership or ATT/CTA qualification (or working towards STEP). You will display strong technical expertise, particularly around inheritance tax, business property relief and agricultural property relief.

You will show excellent attention to detail and consistently high quality output, and proficiency with legal research tools, case management systems and MS applications.

What you'll get in return

You’ll join a friendly, knowledgeable and well-structured team handling complex and rewarding work. In return, you can expect a supportive environment with significant training and ongoing professional development, exposure to high value, technically challenging estates and opportunities to supervise and mentor junior colleagues. A competitive salary and benefits package.

What you need to do now

If you are interested in this role or would like further information, please get in touch for a confidential discussion.
If this job isn't quite right for you, but you’re exploring new opportunities, we’d still love to hear from you.
We would expect a lawyer with the given PQE to have gained the level of experience required, but this does not preclude applications from those with more or less PQE.
