Legal Privacy Advisor | Data Protection | Interim | Part-time Remote Working

Your new company

A multinational private healthcare group is seeking a Legal Advisor with Data Privacy expertise to join its team on a remote part-time basis for up to 6 months (fixed working days of Tues, Wed, Fri). The business is committed to strong governance and compliance practices while embracing digital transformation and innovative technologies.

Your new role

Reporting to the Group Head of Privacy, you will play a key role in ensuring effective implementation and operation of data protection controls across the organisation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on data protection legislation and best practice, including conducting Privacy Impact Assessments

  • Collaborating with Risk, IT, and People teams to embed privacy and data protection policies and procedures

  • Working with senior management, Risk & Compliance, and Internal Audit to establish oversight and assurance of privacy risks

  • Leading privacy compliance projects and developing guidelines and templates

  • Initiating activities to foster privacy awareness and delivering training across the organisation

  • Assisting the business in understanding the commercial implications of changes in privacy law
    This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to influence strategic projects and drive privacy compliance across a global organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Legal or professional privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/M) or equivalent (Admission to Roll of Solicitors would be a plus)

  • Significant experience (min. 5 years as a guideline) advising on privacy and data protection in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments

  • Commercial contracting skills and experience in negotiating global agreements, including data protection terms

  • Proven ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships and operate in matrix roles

  • Confidence working independently, making sound judgments under pressure, and leading projects

  • Insurance or health and care sector experience would be advantageous
