Principal Operations Manger
Location: Aylesford, Kent.
Temporary Contract until April 2026
40 Hours per week Monday to Friday

Your New Role

As Principal Operations Manager, you will report directly to the Account Director and play a pivotal role in delivering operational excellence across a defined area of a major contract. You’ll be responsible for managing a P&L of £10m–£29m and leading a team of 50–100 people. Your focus will be on driving performance, improving margins and cash flow, and ensuring service excellence through effective resource and supply chain management.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and executing the business plan for your area in line with contract strategy.
  • Leading financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L accountability.
  • Managing supplier and subcontractor relationships to ensure service delivery and profitability.
  • Supporting bids and mobilisations, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promoting a culture of compliance, safety, and customer-centricity.
What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Proven experience managing operational teams and delivering against business plans.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting P&L performance.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • A track record of leading change, driving improvements, and managing health and safety.
  • Technical competencies such as IOSH Managing Safely and environmental awareness.
  • A customer-focused mindset and the ability to uphold and promote company values.
