SEN Teaching Assistant Job in Waltham Forest, East London. Competitive Salary!
Location: Waltham Forest
Contract Type: Fixed Term – 1 Academic Year | Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 30 hours/week)
Salary: NJC 4 (Outer London)
Start Date: 1 September 2025
About the Role
This Primary School is seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join its inclusive team for the upcoming academic year. The successful candidate will provide tailored support for pupils with Autism and other additional needs, ensuring every child has equal access to learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
•Level 3 Qualified (desirable)
•Work under teacher supervision to deliver support programmes for pupils with high-level needs
•Support pupils with individual learning tasks across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
•Deliver Maths, English, and speech & language interventions
•Use Makaton to aid communication and accessibility
•Assist pupils with personal care and lunchtime supervision
•Encourage full participation in school life through inclusive practices
•Provide in-class support for targeted learning and adapt to working across year groups as needed
Skills and Experience Required
•Experience supporting children with Autism and complex needs
•Familiarity with the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework (desirable)
•Confident in using Makaton and supporting speech & language development
•Ability to provide personalised care and learning support with sensitivity and respect
•Strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
