Primary SEN Teacher Chester

A specialist primary school in Chester, known for its nurturing environment and commitment to inclusive education, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join their team on a temporary basis. This role will begin immediately after the October half term and will run until the end of the term in December.

The school caters to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, social and emotional difficulties, and moderate learning needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering tailored lessons that meet individual learning plans, supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, and working closely with support staff and the wider SEN team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher with experience in SEN settings who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs. The school offers a supportive leadership team, well-resourced classrooms, and a collaborative working culture.


What you'll need to succeed

Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience working with children with special educational needs, either in a mainstream or specialist setting. A calm, patient, and adaptable approach is essential, along with strong communication skills and a commitment to inclusive practice. An enhanced DBS registered on the update service is required, or you must be willing to obtain one.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Recent experience teaching (whether completed as part of your placement or employment)
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
  • A genuine passion for education and helping students thrive
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A flexible and proactive approach to teaching
  • An enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Willing to obtain references
  • An up to date Overseas Police Check if you have been living outside the UK
