Primary SEN Learning Support Assistant Job in Waltham Forest, East London. Competitive Salary!
Location: Waltham Forest
Contract Type: Fixed Term
Working Pattern: Full-Time (32.5 hours/week, 39 term-time weeks including Inset days)
Salary: £29,436 – £29,856 (FTE) | Approx. pro rata: £22,959
Start Date: November 2025

Hays Education is working in partnership with a primary school in Waltham Forest to recruit a committed and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant. This fixed-term role offers the opportunity to support children with a range of special educational needs, including those with EHCPs, Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties.
What we’re looking for:
•Minimum one year’s experience supporting SEND children in a primary setting
•Understanding of SEN needs and safeguarding procedures
•Level 2 qualification in play work or childcare
•Paediatric First Aid qualification (desirable)
•Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, families, and staff
•Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour and emotional needs
•Initiative, discretion, and teamwork skills
•Confidence in applying behaviour management strategies
