Are you a nurturing, resilient and inspiring teacher with a passion for supporting children who need consistent, compassionate guidance?
A specialist SEMH school in Northamptonshire is looking for an SEMH Primary Class Teacher to support pupils aged 4–11 with social, emotional and mental health needs. You’ll create a stable, structured and emotionally safe learning environment that helps young learners build confidence, self-regulation and a love of learning.
Why This Role Matters
Primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs require patience, understanding, and a trauma‑informed approach. Every day, you’ll use creativity, consistency, and relationship-building to help children manage emotions, develop resilience and engage positively with learning — often achieving breakthroughs that change their long-term educational journey.
Your Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver differentiated, nurturing lessons aligned with each child’s developmental and emotional needs.
• Build strong, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe, valued and understood.
• Lead a small primary class with the support of skilled behaviour mentors and teaching assistants.
• Implement and model emotional regulation strategies, visual timetables and structured routines.
