About the role

This Primary School in Newham is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and ambitious school located in the heart of East London.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning and development, with a particular focus on children with SEND and EHCPs. You’ll help create a purposeful and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

•Support teaching and learning under the guidance of the class teacher
•Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND
•Assist in classroom organisation and pupil management
•Promote inclusion and equal access to learning opportunities
•Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people

What You’ll Need

•Strong literacy and numeracy skills
•Experience working with primary-aged children in an educational setting
•Understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities
•Ability to provide personal care when required
•Team player with excellent communication and observation skills

Compliance Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

•Hold the right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)
•Provide proof of identity and eligibility to work
•Undergo an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
•Supply satisfactory references covering the last 2 years of employment
•Complete safeguarding and child protection training prior to starting
