Primary Learning Support Assistant Job with an EHCP focus. Salary: £24,027 - £24,404 per annum.

Location: Waltham Forest, East London
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Fixed Term – 12 months (Term Time Only)
Working Pattern: Full-time, 32.5 hours/week (Monday–Friday)
Salary: Grade 2, SCP 3–4 (London Living Wage)

About the Role

This Primary School in Waltham Forest is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a child who has an Education, Health and Care Plan. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s life by supporting their learning, development, and personal care needs.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide medical and intimate care when required (including toileting and changing)
•Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans, Behaviour Plans, and Personal Care Programmes
•Enable access to learning by delivering tailored support under teacher guidance
•Assist in managing pupil behaviour and classroom routines
•Work flexibly across classroom and outdoor learning environments

•Have experience supporting children with SEND and EHCPs
•Are confident in providing personal and medical care
•Can follow structured learning and care programmes
•Are empathetic, patient, and committed to inclusive education
•Work effectively as part of a team and under a teacher's direction
•Are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning

•Undergo an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service
•Submit two satisfactory references covering the last 5 years
•Present original qualification certificates at interview
•Complete safeguarding training prior to placement
•Adhere to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines
