Preconstruction Estimator – Social Housing Developer

2. Your New Role

As a Preconstruction Estimator, you will play a key role in the early stages of project development, supporting the commercial and technical teams with accurate cost planning and feasibility assessments. Drawing on your Quantity Surveying background, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates for new build social housing schemes
  • Supporting land acquisition and bid submissions with robust financial analysis
  • Liaising with design, planning, and commercial teams to ensure cost-effective solutions
  • Identifying risks and opportunities during pre-construction phases
  • Contributing to value engineering and procurement strategies
This is a strategic role that will influence the success of future developments and help shape the company’s pipeline of work.

3. What You Will Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • A solid background in Quantity Surveying, ideally within residential or social housing
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen
  • Experience in pre-construction or estimating roles
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive approach and ability to work independently and collaboratively
