Your new company

A well‑established and forward‑thinking practice based in Newton Abbot, Devon, currently seeking a dedicated Practice Finance Manager to oversee and enhance its internal finance function. Your new role

As the Practice Finance Manager, you will take full ownership of the internal finance operations, leading budgeting and forecasting, managing monthly accounts and year‑end processes, and providing financial insight to senior leaders. You will drive process improvements, ensure compliance across payroll, VAT, and statutory reporting, and act as the key point of contact for all finance‑related matters. The role also involves supporting audits and maintaining robust internal financial controls.

What you'll need to succeed

  • CIMA qualification (or equivalent) or a minimum of five years’ experience in finance
  • Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks or Xero
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with CCH is desirable
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships
  • Initiative, teamwork, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving
