Portfolio Eligibility Officer
2 – 3 months temporary
Leeds City Centre – Hybrid Working
£16.26 p/hour 35 hours per week

Here at Hays, we are working with a national public sector body to recruit a Portfolio Eligibility Officer on a temporary basis. The purpose of this role is to ensure that research studies are processed accurately and efficiently in line with the correct government eligibility policy. This includes managing applications, maintaining data systems, producing reports, and providing high-quality support to research teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional customer service to study teams and stakeholders, advising on processes and system use.
  • Administer study applications for support, including validating information, tracking progress, and communicating decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting mechanisms to monitor application flow and service performance.
  • Support the identification, escalation, and resolution of issues within the Eligibility Service.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements to processes, systems, and service delivery.
  • Assist in system development activities, including gathering requirements and participating in user acceptance testing.
Experience & Skills Required
  • Ability to work positively during organisational change and support team colleagues.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage competing demands.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience providing good customer service or user support.
  • Confident working with data, information systems, and producing clear, concise reports.
  • Competent IT skills (e.g., Word, Excel) and willingness to learn new systems.
  • Experience following policies, procedures, and guidance accurately.

This role is a temporary role based in Leeds City Centre, and it is initially 2–3 months. This role is ideal for someone with experience in research administration, data or process management, or high-quality customer-focused support within a large public sector body.
