Overview

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of policy interventions that support the consolidation and transformation of pension schemes. You will aim to understand what the government is looking to achieve from the Pension Schemes Bill 2025, and help to shape a more efficient and productive pensions landscape.

As Policy Lead, you will manage a team of policy professionals and work across the organisation to ensure that interventions are practical, sequenced, and aligned with strategic goals. You’ll engage with stakeholders across government and industry to co-create policy that delivers real-world impact for savers.

This is ideal for candidates with strong policy experience in financial services or government, and a delivery mindset. While pensions-specific expertise is beneficial, we welcome applicants with broader regulatory policy backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of policy interventions under the Pension Schemes Bill.
  • Manage a team of five policy professionals.
  • Ensure policy is evidence-based, practical, and sequenced for implementation.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including regulators, industry bodies, and government departments.
  • Represent the organisation at conferences and working groups.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential
  • Experience in policy development within government, regulatory, or financial services environments.
  • Understanding of the legislative process and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strategic thinking and adaptability across policy areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable

  • Knowledge of UK pensions regulation.
  • Experience working with trustees or within pension schemes.
  • Background in economics, consultancy, or financial services.
