Job title: Policy Lead – Emerging Reforms

- Location: Hybrid (6 days per month in office)

Overview
This newly created role is central to supporting the government’s evolving vision for pensions reform. You will lead a policy theme focused on emerging reforms, helping to shape the regulatory framework and ensure the market responds effectively to legislative change.
As Policy Lead, you’ll manage a team of policy professionals and work across the organisation to deliver agile, evidence-based policy interventions. You’ll be expected to operate consultatively, balancing competing priorities and adapting to shifting policy areas.
This is ideal for candidates with strong policy experience, particularly in financial services or government. A background in economics or strategic policy is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of policy aligned with emerging government reform objectives.
- Manage a team of five policy professionals.
- Support the implementation of new legislation and ensure market readiness.
- Work across multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative policy solutions.
- Engage with stakeholders across government, industry, and regulatory bodies.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Experience in policy development within government, regulatory, or financial services environments.
- Strong strategic thinking and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage teams and deliver complex policy projects.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Desirable
- Background in economics, consultancy, or financial services.
- Experience working with trustees or within pension schemes.
- Understanding of UK pensions reform and regulatory landscape.
